While it hasn’t been widely publicized, an important update to Azure security is set to roll out in July 2024. Azure will initiate the introduction of new security measures that necessitate multi-factor authentication (MFA) at the tenant level. According to Microsoft Techcommunity, the implementation of this MFA mandate will be a gradual process, specifically targeting tenants within Azure platforms 

Which services are impacted by this change?

Access to Azure and only Azure. This point is very important as other 365 services, or even the use of services hosted on Azure, will not be impacted by this change. Finally, keep in mind that Azure is accessible via different methods, and all will be affected:

• Azure Portal

• CLI

• PowerShell

• Terraform

Starting from July 2024, a gradual deployment of this application for the portal only will begin. Once the deployment for the portal is completed, a similar gradual deployment will begin for CLI, PowerShell, and Terraform.
